Fingers Crossed for my Award Nomination
I was absolutely thrilled and honoured to of made it to the regional finals of the Rural Business Awards, my business Carrie Stokes Limited, has been shortlisted for the Best Rural Professional Services Business for 2019/20. The winner of each category will be announced at the Regional Final on Friday 4th October and will go forward to the National Final in February 2020.
I have been in private practice for 14 years and never entered an award before so it was fantastic to be shortlisted for this award with so many other outstanding rural businesses in Shropshire and the Midlands.
Other local finalists in the Midlands Finals include Organik Orangutan, Rocket Communication, Shropshire Farm Weddings, Tickle Tots, Fusing Ideas Glass, Ascendancy Internet Marketing, The Visual Works, Ginger & Spice Festival, the Pheasant at Neenton, West Midlands Showground, Shropshire Festivals, the Wroxeter, Wild Survivor, Apley Farm Shop, Butterbelle, Jupiter Group, Ludlow Farmshop.
My entry focussed on the difference that I make, not just as an accountant, but as a business advisor. I work with my clients to take the headache out of their business finances and help them make better decisions and ultimately make more money.
The Rural Awards are quite high profile, being sponsored by organisations such Amazon, HSBC, Openreach and the FSB. The aim is to give recognition to businesses operating right across the rural sector and to celebrate the achievements of rural businesses. I’ll drink to that!
